Through improved efficiency, the motor uses less power, resulting in more time on water.
Additionally, the motor has an increase in low end thrust, meaning you get a little more when taking off.
These benefits do result in slightly less top end speed, and do increase weight, but only by 130g! A small compromise for an additional 20% runtime.
V2 Motors
The V2 Motor features a sleeker, more hydrodynamic design. With a 10mm extension to the Motor, it now accommodates a motor plug and offers added versatility with Removable v2 Motor Cables to easily change cable length.
When used in conjunction with the Foil Drive Universal Motor Pods and Mast Adaptors, this motor is compatible with almost any foil mast on the market!

Awesome 😎 after coming from original moto to the high power motor was about 2 days of learning the power curve, after that loving the higher top end
I think this is an important upgrade. Each holiday or season I’ve been able to downsize my foil by about one size as my skill has increased. This motor gave me one of those steps immediately. So if you are heavy and struggling to find a foil that works for you, this will help you. But also if you just want to progress quicker, or move to a smaller foil, or have longer run time, you will benefit from this motor. The downside is the slightly increased weight, and remember that moving from V1 to V2 already adds a bit of weight and then this HP adds another 150 g or so. For me it is well worth it, but if you are on a Slim and trying to keep every gram off your board, and you are already getting up fine and just using the system to chip in, then maybe in that case, this isn’t for you. But for most people who are buzzing around and catching wave after wave, I think this is a worthwhile upgrade.
